Angeline Pinot Noir 2017

IMG_1873

The California Pinot Noir category is filled with Pinot Noir brands that don’t offer a fully Pinot Noir based wine. Angeline Pinot Noir is one of the few exceptions that is comprised of 100% Pinot Noir and not traditionally mixed with other grapes that can make up to 25% of the blend, such as Syrah and other varietals. Angeline wines are the entry-level wines of the infamous Martin Ray Winery and were created by the same wine-making team. Martin Ray specializes in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. This Pinot Noir is created with an eco-friendly production system and appeals to wine-drinkers who are concerned about sulfites added into wines. Sulfites are part of the natural wine-making process, however, are sometimes added into wines as preservatives for exporting around the world and for shelf life. This wine does contain sulfites, but the Pinot Noir grape itself has a very thin layer of skin around it, limiting its Amine content and therefore decreasing the exposure inside the final wine product. With Angeline Pinot Noir staying 100% true to its grape varietal, most people concerned with headaches or facial flush often find these symptoms less prevalent. This wine is shaped by a bright fruit aroma, velvety smooth mouthfeel, and a finish of ripe berry flavors.
